Showmanship
*Exhibitors must enter for Showmanship.
*Exhibitors who participate in Showmanship must have a valid entry in the “Nationwide Barrow Battle”.
*Be sure to circle the proper age group you will be participating in.
DNA
*Be as clean as possible when taking the hair samples, no dirt in the bags.
*Be sure to fill out all the needed information of each line of the DNA Forms.
*The BREEDERS Number must be listed on each DNA Form.
*The Premise I.D. will be the number where the Barrow resides. This can be a Farm number or a Chapter number.
*Be sure the DNA BAGS are sealed tight to secure all hair samples.
*At the request of VGL (Veterinary Genetics Laboratory), Davis , Ca. be sure each bag contains 30 Hair Samples with follicles in each kit.
*Be sure the DNA ENVELOPE is sealed with the bag inside.
Entries
*Please print the official form found on the website for each individual exhibitor, only one child per entry form.
*Household nominations are accepted on all DNA KITS, however each KIT must have a valid entry to qualify.
Ex.#1 Berkshire Barrow 1-1 can be entered for both Johnnie Smith and Susie Smith, but 2 separate entry forms must be included. Once at the show either exhibitor may show this barrow.
Ex.#2 No kid can show more Barrows than what that individual has entered. If Johnnie enters 5 hd. and Susie enters 1 , Susie CAN NOT show 2 or more Barrows at the show.
Ex.#3 Johnnie submits DNA KIT on Berkshire 1-1, along with his entry form and $20, therefore this barrow is entered for the show.
* If you submit 6 DNA KITS, and again if you want Johnnie and Susie to have the option for both to show all or any of the 6, the maximum number of entries accepted for these 2 exhibitors combined will be 12 total entries.
*An exhibitor does NOT have to determine which animal he/she will be showing at this time, as long as the proper number for each exhibitor is entered.
*All Entry Forms must be filled out completely to be accepted by the "Nationwide Barrow Battle".
*Entry Fee is $20/hd.
*All entries must be postmarked on or before Dec. 10th.
*Reminder: Oklahoma Dept. of Ag. will require each Barrow to be blood tested for Pseudo after Dec. 1st. All out-of-state animals must meet the requirements of the Oklahoma Department of Ag. and have a state entry permit to enter Oklahoma.
